Selected client work, product builds, and systems experiments across web, fintech, and secure backend development.
A user-space TCP/IP stack written in Rust, running over a Linux TAP device. Hand-rolled ARP, IPv4, ICMP, and TCP, including a real connection state machine (handshake, data exchange, four-way close), with no std::net and no smoltcp. Verified against real Linux tools: arping, ping, nmap, netcat.
A Rust-based Layer 2 virtual network switch inspired by ZeroTier-style virtual networking. Explores Ethernet frame representation, MAC address handling and learning, known destination forwarding, unknown destination flooding, broadcast handling, and UDP transport. Built as an independent networking and systems programming project with a modular Rust architecture.
A weather lookup app built with vanilla JavaScript. Search any city and view live temperature, conditions, and icons, fetched from the OpenWeatherMap API. Includes a secure deployment pipeline that keeps API keys out of Git and injects them at build time on Vercel.
Lightweight multi-threaded HTTP server built from scratch in core Java. Implements TCP sockets, request parsing, routing, static file serving, JSON APIs, thread pool concurrency, and basic directory traversal protection — no Spring or Tomcat.
Rust API with automated secure CI. Pipeline runs build, tests, Semgrep SAST (custom SQL-injection rule), and Gitleaks secret scanning. Demonstrates blocking findings, SHA-pinned Actions, and keeping demo vulnerabilities off main.
Farmer loan scoring and M-Pesa disbursement MVP. Built explainable scoring rules, loan offer flow, and real PayHero integration for disbursement and STK Push repayment. Stack: React (Vite), Express, Node.js, PayHero.
Rust notes API focused on practical application security. Implemented database-backed notes, intentional SQL injection demonstration, and a remediated parameterised-query version to show secure coding in context.
Redis-compatible server in Rust using Tokio. Implements GET/SET with async I/O, concurrent client handling via tokio::spawn, protocol framing, tracing, and async unit tests.
Web platform for a Nakuru-based non-profit. Built the public-facing site to present programmes, improve information access, and support organisational visibility. Stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Apache, AWS.
Website for a Kenyan mental wellness company. Acted as project manager and contributed to delivery of a clean, responsive site focused on service presentation and contact flow.
Team lead on a web platform for medical practitioners. Focused on coordination, structure, and delivery of a functional public site.
A video player written in C with support for multiple formats. Focused on learning systems-level media handling and performance.
Custom load balancing experiment aimed at distributing traffic based on practical use cases and reducing server overload.
Android utility designed to perform timed clicks with minimal user interaction. Built as a practical automation experiment.
